TC Energy’s Real Estate Team felt it necessary to explore a working area that provided an Innovative Environment for their IT development teams. Mode works closely with the Real Estate and Facility Team along with the IT Department Leads. Feedback on the thought process and layout ideas were reviewed as a group with equal opportunity for input and suggestions from all. Engagement with local vendors was utilized to ensure solutions were practical yet forward-thinking for the TC workplace standards. In the end, the layout for the Innovative Floor provides collaboration, with different environments for communication, innovation, and teamwork. There is a mixed offering of shared and assigned desking, team and individual booth spaces, and open and closed meeting areas for the regular team project work. We hope to have struck a balance for focus and engagement between open and closed spaces. The innovative floor environment will allow for maximum work style flexibility while providing a sense of place like a beautiful home. The TC project will work with a regular construction team with the consultants as overseers. an innovation floor for their IT Department that would promote collaboration, communication, innovation, and teamwork. The planning layout provides a mix of shared desks, workstations, and phone and meeting booths that help to strike a balance between the open floor plan and the user needs for individual space. The space will allow for maximum work style flexibility with the balance between office space and a sense of home. The combination of flexible and beautiful space will allow the design solution to be more human-centric to foster collaboration and worker engagement.
